A Nationwide Network of Champions Dedicated to Ending Social Isolation and Loneliness


The Nationwide Network of Champions (NNOC) is a collaborative online community for people interested in fostering social connection. Professionals and volunteers working at the local, state, and national level are welcome to join the NNOC at no cost. Join the NNOC to identify effective strategies, share your learnings, discuss common challenges, and collaborate to address social isolation together.

Joining the Commit to Connect Nationwide Network of Champions includes three steps:

  • Review, complete and submit the registration form
  • After submitting the form, you’ll receive an email that confirms receipt of your registration. We will review and process your registration.
  • Once processed, you will receive an email with access to the Nationwide Network of Champions.

What are the benefits of joining?

The NNOC is a place to connect with others who are working to strengthen social connection in their communities. As a member, you can:

  • Find Your Peers: Search a nationwide directory of professionals and volunteers.
  • Brainstorm Solutions: Use the discussion boards to source solutions from peers across the country.
  • Access the Library: Browse and contribute items to a collection of social connection-focused resources.
  • Stay Informed: Receive email digests and blogs that bring news and trending discussions to your inbox at a frequency that works for you.

Is there a cost to join?

No. The NNOC is free to join, and members can access the platform and its resources at no cost. 

Who will you meet on the NNOC?

Our Champion members work at the local, state, and national levels to strengthen social connection. Among Champion members, 50 percent focus on local community efforts, 24 percent focus on state-level efforts, and 21 percent focus on national-level efforts. We welcome anyone interested in fostering social connection. This includes staff and volunteers from:

  • Aging services providers
  • Area Agencies on Aging
  • Assistive Technology Act programs
  • Businesses/LLCs
  • Centers for Independent Living
  • Community-based organizations
  • Community care hubs
  • Educational entities
  • Faith-based organizations
  • Health systems
  • Housing providers
  • Libraries
  • Parks and recreation departments
  • Public health agencies
  • Senior centers
  • State agencies, including units on aging or disability
  • Statewide and regional coalitions
  • State councils on developmental disabilities
  • Title VI tribal aging programs

May my business or corporation join?

Yes. We welcome cross-sector collaboration. Members are asked to refrain from promoting commercial, political, or personal interests.

What is the time commitment?

There is no required time commitment to join the NNOC, though active participation is encouraged. Members can engage in ways that work for them, such as:

  • Asking a question or sharing strategies on discussion boards
  • Reading blogs on member Champions
  • Voting in a poll
  • Brose resources and upcoming events
  • Searching the directory by staff name, state, or organization
